This summer, the PazosCuchillo Foundation is transforming its headquarters, Mi Path Os Doy , in Trasanquelos (Oza-Cesuras, A Coruña), into a space for reflection on contemporary creative processes with the installation of DRA-MATIZAR , a monumental sculpture by Carlos Pazos, and the opening of Artedicion(es) , an exhibition focused on the artist's book and independent publishing.

Far from reproducing a guillotine as a historical object, DRA-MATIZAR uses this powerful image as a metaphor for the artistic act itself. For Pazos, the creative process demands radical and definitive decisions, but also constant critical revision. This duality is condensed in the title of the work: the forceful "DRA," which evokes a drastic and irreversible gesture, is contrasted with "MATIZAR," an invitation to the reflection, doubt, and self-criticism that accompany all artistic practice.

The sculpture is permanently installed in the so-called Meteorite Zone, a new area designed by architect Luis Enguita that will expand the foundation's facilities and house the artist's future studio-library. The piece thus becomes integrated into the landscape as one of the most distinctive elements of the complex, reinforcing the PazosCuchillo Foundation's commitment to promoting large-scale projects linked to contemporary thought.

A key figure in Spanish art since the late 1960s, Carlos Pazos has developed a career that moves seamlessly between pop art, conceptual art, and appropriation. His work is characterized by the use of humor, irony, and visual culture as tools to question the mechanisms of memory, desire, and identity. Through found objects, installations, photography, video, and performances, the artist has constructed a personal universe that transforms the everyday into a territory for aesthetic and critical reflection.

Alongside the DRA-MATIZAR installation, the Foundation presents Artedicion(es) , the ninth exhibition organized at Trasanquelos. The show offers a journey through the world of artist's publishing via publications from Alauda Negra, La Más Bella, Tinta Invisible, and Éditions Camomille—four publishing projects that showcase the extraordinary diversity of formats, languages, and strategies that define the artist's book today. More than just a documentary medium, these publications reclaim publishing as a space for experimentation where the artwork unfolds as object, process, and experience.
