Maresme launches a new Museum Passport
The initiative invites you to visit museums and cultural facilities in thirteen municipalities through a personalized itinerary that highlights the history, art, science and traditions of the territory.
The Maresme has a new tool to encourage knowledge and discovery of its rich cultural heritage. The new Maresme Museums Passport invites residents and visitors to tour the main museums and heritage facilities in the region, offering a flexible visit experience in which each person can design their own itinerary.
The initiative was born with the desire to give visibility to the diversity of cultural spaces that explain the identity of Maresme from multiple perspectives: history, art, industrial heritage, architecture, democratic memory, popular traditions, science or landscape. Each visit allows you to discover a new fragment of the collective story of a territory that preserves an important cultural legacy.
The route includes facilities spread across thirteen municipalities. In Arenys de Mar you can visit the Marès de la Punta Museum and the Mollfulleda Mineralogy Museum. Argentona participates with the Museu del Càntir, while Caldes d'Estrac does so with the Palau Foundation.
Calella offers a wide range of spaces made up of the Tourism Museum, the Dalmau Parc Air-raid Shelter, the Calella Lighthouse Interpretation Centre and the Municipal Archive Museum. In Canet de Mar, the passport includes the Lluís Domènech i Montaner House Museum.
El Masnou includes the Municipal Museum of Nautics, the House of Culture, the Jordi Pericot Kinetic Art Space and the Mina d'Aigua Interpretation Centre. Mataró, one of the main heritage hubs in the region, participates with the Nau Gaudí – Bassat Collection, the Santa Maria Archive Museum (Capella dels Dolors), the Casa Coll i Regàs, the Ateneu Cultural Centre, Can Marfà – Mataró Museum, Ca l'Arenas – Mataró Museum, Can Serra – Mataró Museum and Mataró Art Contemporani (MAC).
The itinerary also includes the Roman Museum and the Printing Museum of Premià de Mar; the Archive Museum of Sant Andreu de Llavaneres; the Painting Museum of Sant Pol de Mar; the Wine Tourism and Archaeological Center of Vallmora, in Teià; the Archive Museum of Vilassar de Dalt; and, in Vilassar de Mar, the Enric Monjo Museum, the Mina Vella Museum and the Carme Rovira House Museum.
