In October 2010, coinciding with the festivities of Sant Martirià in Banyoles, a new stage of the Espai Eat Art was inaugurated. Until then, it had been known as the Espai d'Art Contemporani Lluís Vilà and, previously, as Galeria Cort. The change of name, operation and artistic line had the aim of making the space a reference centre around the concept of eat art —the art of eating—, an area in which the artist from Banyoles Lluís Vilà stood out and of which he was one of the greatest exponents in Catalonia. Over the years, the Espai Eat Art has hosted exhibitions by some of the most relevant names linked to art and gastronomy, such as Ferran Adrià, the Roca brothers or Pere Arpa; photographers such as Francesc Guillamet and Tino Soriano, or multidisciplinary sculptors such as Joan Crous, Fran Aleu and Xavier Escribà, among many others. It is also worth highlighting the presence of industrial designers such as Andreu Carulla, Pere Gifre, Enserio, Rafael Marquina and Daniel Molina, as well as the support of leading gastronomic critics, such as Salvador García-Arbós, Jaume Fàbrega and Jaume Coll.

Since 2020, the space has expanded its activity and develops a dual function: on the one hand, as a cultural center and, on the other, as an artists' residence. In addition, conferences, creative eat art workshops, concerts and other activities are organized there. In this sense, the Eat Art Space has opened its horizon beyond the strictly artistic sphere, also working with the social fabric of the environment and reinforcing the social dimension of culture.
