The closing afternoon of the exhibition Maillol / Manolo. Pure sculpture at the Artur Ramon Gallery in Barcelona is presented as a prominent event on the cultural agenda, with the presentation of the book dedicated to Maillol by the Catalan photographer Francesc Guillamet Ferran. The event will be attended by the author himself, as well as the art critic and bonart editor Ricard Planas, and the historian and cultural manager Eric Forcada, a specialist in Maillol's work and a deep expert on the artistic context of Northern Catalonia.
The exhibition, which can be visited in the same gallery, is the result of the collaboration between the Artur Ramon Gallery, the Dina Vierny Gallery in Paris and the Leandro Navarro Gallery in Madrid, and is part of the shared commitment to the memory of Àlex Susanna, promoter and defender of the project, who had repeatedly expressed the desire to bring together in the same exhibition two essential figures of modern sculpture such as Aristide Maillol and Manolo Hugué, artists who were the object of constant study throughout their careers.

The exhibition proposes a careful selection of sculptures by both creators, accompanied by a small but significant set of drawings, which allow us to delve into their way of understanding the creative process and their respective formal research. The exhibition highlights the intensity and coherence of two pioneering trajectories in the context of the avant-garde, while also highlighting the subtle connections and profound differences between two artistic personalities who contributed decisively to renewing the sculptural language of their time.
