The MARTE Castellón contemporary art fair returns this weekend for its thirteenth edition, reaffirming its status as a key event on the Spanish art circuit. Now established as the only contemporary art fair in the Valencian Community, the event will open its doors with free admission and a diverse program that transforms Castellón into a meeting point for collectors, industry professionals, and contemporary art enthusiasts.
This year's edition embraces a diverse and multidisciplinary approach, reinforcing its commitment to making art accessible to everyone, regardless of their prior experience in the art world. MARTE thus returns as a showcase for emerging trends, innovative exhibition projects, and socially conscious artist residencies, while simultaneously strengthening its growing international presence.
One of the biggest names at this year's fair will be guest of honor Juana González, represented by Madrid's Arma Gallery. The artist is a central focus of the fair thanks to a career marked by the exploration of contemporary artistic languages and a body of work recognized within the national art scene.
The main section will bring together galleries from cities such as Madrid, Valencia, Barcelona, Zaragoza, Castellón, Granada, Mallorca, Lisbon and Turin, creating a diverse panorama of current contemporary creation.
Among the featured proposals are Galería Pep Llabrés, with work by Josep Santamaría; Shiras Galería, presenting works by Agustín Serisuelo and Adriana Berges; Herrero de Tejada, with Natalia López de Oliva and Carlos Pesudo; Garage Bonilla, with Jaume Cremades and Pedro Cuadra; and CLC Arte, which will exhibit pieces by Luis Miguel Rico and Manu Iranzo.
Also participating will be spaces such as Mobb Art Club, Antonia Puyó, Est_ArtSpace, MXM Galería, La Mercería, La Gran, 95 Art Gallery, Ola Gallery, Arias Rego, Batec, Wit Gallery and La Panartería, in addition to Christian Walter Gallery, which will bring works by such renowned artists as Santiago Ydañez, Paco Pomet and Soledad Sevilla.
The fair will also feature new additions such as Marquesa Gallery and ArtQuake, along with Beatriz Pereira, who are making their debut at MARTE with proposals signed by emerging and established artists.
The international character of the fair will be especially reinforced in this edition thanks to the presence of the Portuguese Braço Perna 44, which will present the works of Jorge Lopes and Miguel Ângelo Marques, and the Italian A Pick Gallery, arriving from Turin with the proposal of the artist Mila Dobrevska, whose work dialogues with the European pictorial tradition from a fully contemporary perspective.
