The 'Berenam amb Miró' project arrives in Zurich
The Miró Mallorca Foundation brings the creative universe of Joan Miró to Zurich with an innovative and inclusive educational project.
The Pilar and Joan Miró Foundation in Mallorca has managed to bring the work and spirit of Catalan artist Joan Miró across borders, with an educational project that has sparked the interest of a public school in Zurich. The activity, entitled 'Berenam amb Miró', invites children to explore the artist's creative universe through play and artistic experimentation.
The project, designed by its pedagogical team formed by Antònia Huguet and Irene Gayà, has been implemented at the Primarschule Freiestrasse Zürich, where 45 second-grade students have worked on an exhibition inspired by Miró. The children, around 8 years old, have explored techniques such as charcoal and acrylic, as well as themes related to dreams and the creation of characters with a Mironian aesthetic.
Recently, students had the opportunity to connect online with the educational team of the Miró Mallorca Foundation, in a meeting held at the foundation's Taller Sert. This connection allowed the children to learn more about Miró's work, history and life context, facilitating a direct dialogue with the educators who have promoted the project.
An example of inclusive arts education
The 'Berenam amb Miró' project exemplifies how art education can be inclusive and creative, connecting diverse realities and demonstrating that learning has no borders. The initiative is part of the message of International Museum Day 2026, which claims the role of museums as spaces for encounter and dialogue.
