The Department of Culture of the Generalitat has resolved the selection process for the management of the Museu d'Art de Girona (Md'A) with the renewal of Carme Clusellas i Pagès at the head of the institution. The decision has been ratified by the Board of Directors of the Catalan Agency for Cultural Heritage (ACPC), meeting in ordinary session, after an evaluation committee evaluated the candidacy within the framework of a public competition.
The commission, made up of representatives from the Catalan Agency for Cultural Heritage, the Department of Culture and also external experts from the museum and heritage sector, highlighted the trajectory and project presented by Clusellas, who will continue to lead one of the leading artistic institutions in the Girona region.

The current director has held the position since 2014, during which time the Museu d'Art de Girona has promoted numerous temporary exhibitions and initiatives aimed at strengthening the link between the museum and the public. Her period has been particularly characterised by socialisation and cultural dynamisation activities, with the aim of bringing artistic heritage closer to new audiences and turning the museum into a more participatory and accessible space.
Carme Clusellas has a degree in Geography and History, with a specialization in Art History from the University of Barcelona, and a diploma in Conservation and Restoration of Movable Property from the School of Arts and Crafts of the Barcelona Provincial Council. Her academic training is completed with a master's degree in Cultural Management from the University of Barcelona and a postgraduate degree in Conservation and Heritage Management from the European School of Heritage.
Before taking over the direction of the Girona Art Museum, Clusellas had developed a long career in the Catalan museum field. He directed the Tomàs Balvey Archive Museum in Cardedeu and also the Granollers Museum, experiences that consolidated his profile as a specialist in heritage management and cultural dissemination.
