The construction of a museum goes far beyond designing a building or defining an exhibition program, it is a long journey with many moments. It involves imagining a place, giving it an identity and establishing new relationships between art, architecture and the territory. With this view, the Lluís Coromina Isern Foundation will participate in the seventh edition of By Invitation, the modern and contemporary art show of the Círculo Ecuestre de Barcelona, to present the project of the future Coromina Museum.
Under the title Building a museum, building a place: the future Coromina Museum , the meeting will take place on November 6, from 5 to 6 p.m., in the auditorium on the first floor of the Círculo Ecuestre. The conversation will feature Ricard Planas Camps, future director of the Coromina Museum, and Josep Mias, architect of MIAS Architects, who will share the vision of a project that wants to go beyond the exhibition function to become a cultural reference space, with its own identity and an active link with society.
The Foundation's participation is part of an edition of By Invitation articulated around the concept of Open Threads , which explores the relationships between generations, languages and cultures through a program that brings together great masters of modern art and prominent voices of contemporary creation. From November 5 to 8, the halls of the modernist palace of the Círculo Ecuestre, designed in 1910 by the architect Joan Josep Hervás i Arizmendi and decorated by Joan Esteva, will become a meeting place for artists, galleries, collectors and professionals in the sector.
