Girona journalism experienced one of its great annual events on October 14th with the presentation of the 2026 Information Flies. The auditorium of the La Mercè Cultural Center in Girona was filled to the last seat in a gala that brought together communication professionals, political representatives, artists, members of the security forces and citizens who, year after year, join in this collective celebration of the journalistic profession. The anticipation was so great that some people were unable to enter the room.
Over the course of almost two hours, the event combined professional recognition, irony and emotion, in an evening that transcended protocol to offer moments that are difficult to repeat. Among the most outstanding episodes were the surprising speech by Pia Crozet and the intimate dialogue between singer Sílvia Pérez Cruz and her mother, which brought a personal and emotional dimension to a ceremony dedicated to information and the people who make it possible.

One of the most talked about moments came with the announcement of the Mosca Borda, awarded to David Torras, Director of Communication of Girona FC. The club made history by receiving this recognition for the second consecutive year, an unprecedented event in the history of the awards. No representative of the entity attended the ceremony, but the organization read a letter that Girona FC had sent in advance, in which it expressed a rather critical view of the Mosca de la Información.
The evening culminated with the presentation of the Mosca Grossa to Xicu Sánchez Carcassés, received with a great ovation from the audience. The recognition put an end to an edition that vindicated journalism as a space for meeting, critical perspective and citizen participation.
