The Edgar Negret Museum in Bogotá recently hosted another Bonart International event, marking the launch of the magazine's third international issue. This edition focuses on Colombia as a central theme and delves into the diversity of the country's artistic creation. Following the launch in Medellín, Bogotá welcomed the second Colombian stop for a publication that continues to strengthen its ties with the Latin American cultural scene.
One of the highlights of the day was the unveiling of a work by El Xupet Negre at the museum itself. The presence of the Catalan artist fostered a particularly meaningful dialogue between the language of contemporary urban art and the sculptural universe of Edgar Negret, whose work forms part of a fundamental chapter in modern Colombian art. Two seemingly disparate approaches, through geometry, space, symbolism, and their relationship to the environment, found common ground in the museum.

The incorporation of El Xupet Negre's work into the Edgar Negret Museum thus acquired a dimension that went beyond the mere presentation of a single piece. The encounter fostered a conversation between generations, languages, and contexts, and reaffirmed art's capacity to establish connections between practices that arise in different times and places. Urban art, with its vocation to occupy and transform public space, engaged in dialogue with a body of work like Negret's, marked by sculptural research, abstraction, and the construction of new relationships between form and space.
The launch brought together representatives from the Colombian and Catalan art and cultural spheres and reinforced Bonart's commitment to building, through its international edition, a platform for exchange between artistic scenes. The publication has found Colombia to be a particularly fertile ground for developing this mission, not only because of the presence of artists, galleries, museums, and institutions featured in its pages, but also because of the opportunity to organize in-person events around each issue.

The images from the day captured an event conceived as both a celebration of art and a new chapter in the journey of Bonart International. The presentation of issue number 3 in Bogotá, along with the previous one in Medellín, confirms the growing importance of Colombia in this new international phase of the magazine.
