Barcelona has approved a new batch of urban names that consolidate the cultural and memorial turn of its public space. In total, the Nomenclàtor's Report has validated 30 new spaces, within a mandate in which 119 streets have already been approved, with a growing presence of women's names (63), compared to 34 men's and 20 linked to place names and other references.

Among the most notable additions are the gardens dedicated to the sculptor Josep Maria Subirachs, located in Poblenou, in a space that had been approved years ago and which now receives its definitive location. Subirachs, author of the Passion Façade of the Sagrada Família, thus becomes one of the great names that consolidates the relationship between art and the city.

The new nomenclature also includes essential figures of Catalan literature. In the city, spaces will be dedicated to Isabel Clara-Simó, Teresa Pàmies and Anna Maria Moix, reinforcing the female presence in urban memory. In this vein, references such as the textile artist Aurèlia Muñoz and the poet Bronisława Wajs (Papusza) are also incorporated, expanding the cultural and geographical range of recognized figures.

The world of music and popular culture is also present with the incorporation of singer-songwriter Luis Eduardo Aute, who will have a space in Gràcia. In the social and political sphere, the career of Juanjo Ferreiro Suárez is recognized, while in urban planning and architecture, Joan Antoni Solans is incorporated, a key figure in the transformation of the contemporary city.

Among the names already approved that are now being specified on the urban map, the square dedicated to Capitán Trueno also stands out, in homage to screenwriter Víctor Mora, as well as the recognition of sculptor Manolo Hugué and cartoonist Joan Josep Tharrats.

In Vall d'Hebron, new spaces dedicated to creators linked to the avant-garde and the 20th century are also being planned, such as the painter Francis Picabia, the designer and illustrator Alexandre de Riquer and the painter Josep Guinovart, consolidating an axis of artistic memory that crosses different neighborhoods.
