The artistic programming of the 40th edition of the Perelada Festival has been presented at the Sant Pau Modernist Complex in Barcelona, which will take place from July 17 to August 9 in various spaces of the Peralada Castle —such as the Church of El Carme, the Mirador del Castell and the Celler Perelada—, as well as at the Palau de la Música Catalana.
Under the motto 40 years on the way , this commemorative edition proposes a lively and dynamic look at the four decades of the festival's history, more focused on continuity and future projection than on retrospective. The Festival thus reaffirms its artistic identity with a program that consolidates its commitment to lyrical, dance, chamber music and contemporary creation, while reinforcing the dialogue between disciplines, spaces and generations.
The poster for the 40th edition of the Perelada Festival is a work by South African artist William Kentridge, internationally recognized for his multidisciplinary practice that combines drawing, animation, theater and visual thinking. His proposal brings a unique artistic identity to this commemorative edition, reinforcing the dialogue between visual and performing arts that defines the spirit of the festival.

The presentation was attended by artistic director Oriol Aguilà, accompanied by several figures from the creative scene linked to this edition, such as choreographer Aleix Martínez, librettist Cristina Pavarotti, composers Alberto García Demestres and Carles Prat, playwright Carlota Gurt, musician Marc Heredia (from the Fortuny Trio) and organist Montserrat Torrent.
One of the highlights of the programming is the desire to share the celebration of the fortieth anniversary with creators and projects that also commemorate significant milestones, thus reinforcing the artistic bonds and complicity that have characterized the festival's trajectory.
The opening will be held with a recital by the voices of Ermonela Jaho and Benjamin Bernheim, and the program will also include top names such as Bryn Terfel, Sara Blanch, Michael Spyres, Jordi Savall and Núria Rial.
In the field of contemporary creation, the festival will host absolute premieres such as Diario di una madre , by Alberto García Demestres with text by Cristina Pavarotti, and Estética y Masacre , by Carles Prat, born within the framework of the Òh!pera project of the Gran Teatre del Liceu.
Chamber music will play a prominent role with the concert of the Fortuny Trio, which is celebrating its tenth anniversary, while the Carme church will become the setting for a tribute to Montserrat Torrent on the occasion of the centenary of her birth.
