The Mas Miró Foundation has announced the appointment of Cèlia del Diego Thomas as the new director of the institution, following the resolution of an open and competitive selection process that brought together high-level candidacies from the fields of cultural management and the visual arts. The choice has been made with the aim of reinforcing the cultural project of the Mas Miró in a new stage of consolidation and projection.
With a career spanning over twenty years in the direction and management of contemporary art institutions, Cèlia del Diego Thomas stands out for her combination of experience in artistic direction, strategic planning and networking with cultural agents and public administrations. This comprehensive vision has been key in her professional career and in the development of cultural projects rooted in the territory.
Among his most relevant responsibilities is the management of the Centre d'Art la Panera in Lleida and the CA Tarragona Centre d'Art, two leading institutions in the Catalan contemporary art scene. More recently, he has served as head of institutional relations at the Museu d'Art Contemporani de Barcelona (MACBA), where he has continued to consolidate his experience in the connection between cultural institutions and the artistic fabric.

In her proposal for Mas Miró, the new director aims to reinforce the uniqueness of the space as a heritage center linked to the figure of Joan Miró, while promoting a greater connection with the territory and a determined openness towards contemporary creation. This strategic line seeks to place the foundation in an active dialogue with the country's cultural system, combining the preservation of the legacy with its cultural activation.
The project led by Cèlia del Diego thus opts for a model that integrates heritage, innovation and institutional collaboration. This orientation, which emphasizes cooperation between cultural agents and the national and international projection of Mas Miró, has been particularly valued by the jury of the selection process.
