Between April 10 and 19, the international art duo PichiAvo will create a large-scale mural at 28-30 Pallados Street in Athens. This is their first professional project in Greece and a self-funded initiative, conceived as a symbolic gesture of gratitude to the city.
Entitled "An Offering to Athens ," the work is conceived as a proposal that transcends the purely aesthetic, becoming a cultural dialogue with the Greek capital. At the center of the composition appears Athena, the city's patron goddess, associated with the myth of the gift of the olive tree, an emblem of peace and prosperity. From this foundational reference, the mural reinterprets the classical legacy through a contemporary lens, linking mythology with current urban culture.
The project, which has taken more than two years to develop, reflects the ambition and complexity characteristic of the duo's work. True to their visual language, PichiAvo combine the sculptural aesthetic of classical art with the energy of contemporary muralism, creating a visual bridge between historical heritage and urban expression.
The location, near the Acropolis of Athens, reinforces the symbolic nature of the intervention, which aspires to integrate into the city's cultural landscape and become a new visual landmark within its transforming urban fabric. “Bringing our work to Athens is like coming full circle,” the artists explain. “Greek culture has always been an essential source of inspiration for us; this mural is a way of giving something back, an offering to the city that has influenced us so much.”
