Madness takes shape and becomes art
Curator Angelica Tognetti directs this exhibition at the Sagrada Família Civic Center, which explores neurodiversity and the limits of reason through installations and experiences that transform the visitor's perception.
To enter madness is to cross the limits of reason and immerse yourself in a universe where chaos is transformed into pure creativity. Poetics of Madness proposes a journey to this extreme territory, where art gives shape to the most intense emotions and inner concepts that surprise, move and question the perception of those who contemplate the works. Curator Angelica Tognetti directs this exhibition at the Sagrada Família Civic Center, which opens on March 27 and will remain open until May 19, with a special start that includes a guided tour by the curator herself.
This tour explores the complexity of neurodiversity and madness from a perspective that is both aesthetic and critical. Through installations and participatory experiences, artists María Ruido, Claudia Ventola, Natalia Lázaro Prevost and Julia Montilla challenge visitors and raise questions about how to represent and express psychic discomfort, revealing the margins between personal experience, imagination and artistic creation. The exhibition thus becomes a space where transgression, emotion and reflection go hand in hand, inviting the public to rethink the limits of what we consider normal and acceptable.
On the day of the opening, the works that make up the exhibition will invite the visitor to establish a dialogue with the concepts, stories and experiences that orbit around the poetics of madness. The critical, literary and artistic references that have inspired these practices as forms of resistance will be highlighted. The exhibition proposes to reflect on the different ways of representing, expressing and exhibiting madness, breaking stigmas and questioning the dictates of “normality”. It will be an opportunity to imagine and explore other ways of inhabiting and transiting madness, in a journey that promises to transform the public's perception from the very beginning.
Madness and the art world meet in a space where rules fade and creativity becomes free. It is in this fertile chaos that the most extreme ideas take shape, and inner emotions are transformed into images that move and challenge the gaze.
