'The voice of the stone': Duván López's art is installed in the Parc dels Estanys

The Parc dels Estanys in Platja d'Aro once again becomes a stage for contemporary art with the new exhibition by Duván López, the Colombian artist based in Barcelona. The voice of the stone brings together ten large-format sculptures installed outdoors, which are integrated with the landscape and natural architecture of the park, inviting the visitor to an experience that goes beyond the usual walk. The pieces, of a monumental nature and with an intense physical presence, pose a direct relationship with the environment, inviting those who observe them to "inhabit" the place and become aware of the connection between nature, symbolism and the inner world.

The exhibition, which opened on March 21 and can be visited until February 22, 2027 as part of the ART 2026 cycle organized by the Department of Culture, includes a guided tour by the artist himself. This allows visitors to get closer to the creative process of the sculptures and discover how apparently solid and almost hieratic forms can become living presences that challenge the viewer. Each piece generates an intimate dialogue between art and landscape, inviting reflection and a sensory immersion in an environment that combines contemporary creation and nature.

The voice of stone continues a project that began in 2014 with the aim of expanding municipal exhibition spaces and bringing art closer to a wider audience. The Parc dels Estanys, a 150,000 m² urban space inaugurated in October 2012 and expanded in 2022, combines cultural, tourist and naturalistic attractions, and allows educational visits while recovering original habitats and environments in the area. Over the years, the park has hosted exhibitions by artists such as Emili Armengol, Alberto Gómez Ascaso, Jaume Roser, Carles Bros, Angel Camino, Martí Rom, Santiago Gimeno, Josep Coll, Torrent Pagès, Aramis Justiz, Dolors Puigdemont, Tomàs Pons and Manuel Solà, consolidating its commitment to outdoor art and establishing a bridge between artistic creation and nature.

With Duván López, the park reaffirms its vocation to become a space for dialogue and reflection, where monumental art integrates with the landscape and invites visitors to live a unique and immersive experience, capable of transforming the perception of the place and the natural environment.
