Gerard Sala i Rosselló (Tona, 1942 – 2024) was one of the most prominent figures in Catalan contemporary art. Multifaceted by nature, Sala excelled as a painter, sculptor, engraver, muralist, poster artist, set designer and poet, leaving behind a body of work that combines poetic depth and visual strength. His work is characterised by the ability to evoke emotions and tell stories through colour, form and composition. From large-format murals to urban sculptures such as La Porta del Mar in Badalona, to posters for festivals and cultural events, his production encompasses multiple forms of expression that dialogue with public space and with the public itself.

From November 13 to February 22, 2026, the Badalona Museum hosts Gerard Sala.
