A journey into the luminous darkness of Bernardí Roig: two exhibitions connect his universe in Barcelona
bonart barcelona - 25/11/25

The exhibitions dedicated to Bernardí Roig become the focal point of a guided tour through Barcelona that proposes an immersive journey through his creative universe this Tuesday, November 25. The itinerary will begin at the Miguel Marcos Gallery and culminate at the Isern-Dalmau Space of the Lluís Coromina Isern Foundation, offering two complementary approaches to his recent work. The presentation of this double tour will be in charge of the critic and writer Fernando Castro Flórez and the artist himself, Bernardí Roig, who will share perspectives and readings on the processes, tensions and images that articulate his work.

With the collaboration of Bonart, participants will first visit Desaloja el rostro at the Miguel Marcos Gallery and, subsequently, [NO] Terure el cabo a lo interior at the Lluís Coromina Foundation. The exhibition at the space at Jonqueres Street, 10, brings together a selection of recent works —sculptures, paintings, drawings and an audiovisual piece— by the Mallorcan creator, which "confine the gaze in the absorbing depth of black and catch us with the ocular flash caused by fluorescent light," as the Barcelona gallery itself points out.

The Lluís Coromina Isern Foundation and the Miguel Marcos Gallery present the exhibition [NO] Treure el cap a l'Interior , which brings together a selection of recent videos by Bernardí Roig (1965) together with the installation El Cap de Goya (2020). The exhibition opened at the Espai Isern Dalmau in Barcelona on November 18 and offers a journey through a set of works that explore the tension between the repetition of the gesture and the impossibility of redemption. Solitary figures confront their own limits, trapped in the circularity of their acts.

Bernardí Roig's work is characterized by an intense exploration of light and darkness, where blinding white and deep black act as tense forces. His figures, often masculine and solitary, appear immersed in extreme situations, trapped in repetitive gestures that reveal fragility, obsession and resistance. Through sculptures, videos and installations, Roig constructs high-voltage emotional scenarios that interrogate memory, the body and the impossibility of escape.
