Barcelona Gallery Weekend kicks off a new edition full of art, discoveries and connections
bonart barcelona - 18/09/25

Barcelona Gallery Weekend is in its eleventh year, consolidating itself as an essential event in the city's artistic calendar. From September 18 to 21, a total of 24 contemporary and modern art galleries will open their doors to offer a wide range of exhibitions that reflect the vitality and diversity of today's creative scene. The city of Barcelona takes over from Madrid with a spectacular map of proposals.

As a major novelty of this edition, the FLASH program is incorporated, an initiative that seeks to give visibility to experimental proposals, riskier formats or emerging artists. This new space will feature nine ephemeral exhibitions, which can only be visited during the four days of the festival, adding a component of exclusivity and urgency to the audience's experience.

With this commitment to innovation and proximity to the public, the Barcelona Gallery Weekend continues to reaffirm its commitment to the promotion of contemporary art, offering a unique opportunity to discover both established artists and emerging voices, through a tour of art spaces throughout the city.

In this eleventh edition, the Barcelona Gallery Weekend features the participation of 24 galleries and more than 50 artists, bringing together a wide representation of the local and international artistic fabric. The event is organized by ArtBarcelona, the Association of Galleries, and highlights the fundamental role of art galleries as active spaces for cultural production and knowledge generation.

  • Gallery SENDA, Aryz, Fragment of Las tres gracias.

Far from being just places for exhibition and sale, galleries are asserting themselves as platforms for experimentation, reflection and discovery, fostering dialogue between artists, collectors, institutions and the general public. In this sense, the Barcelona Gallery Weekend wants to highlight their work as key agents in the artistic ecosystem, fostering contemporary creation and providing spaces for meeting and connection within and outside the cultural sphere.

Exhibitions with Eva Fàbregas at Bombon Projects, Manolo Sierra at Pigment Gallery, Mari Chordà and Montse Clavé at Chiquita Room, Dionís Escorsa at RocioSantaCruz, Carlos Pazos and Georges Brecht at ADN, Aryz at Galeria Senda, Christo & Jean-Claude at Prats Nogueras Blanchard, Cristina de Middel at SELTZ or Carlos Forns at Sala Parés among others.

  • ADN Gallery, FLASH Program, Carlos Pazos, ¡Vaya nochecita!, 2015.

The 9th edition of the Acquisitions Program has, so far, the support of several entities that have confirmed their participation, such as Eurostars Hotel Company, the Vila Casas Foundation, the Úniques Foundation, the Sorigué Foundation and the Manuel Expósito Collection. These institutions are committed to acquiring works of art from participating galleries, thus reinforcing their commitment to contemporary creation.

The program aims to promote the dynamization of the art market and values the importance of purchasing works as a key element for the sustainability of the artistic ecosystem. With this gesture, the collaborating entities not only expand and enrich their collections, but also contribute to giving visibility and recognition to the work of galleries and artists, promoting a lively and active cultural circuit.
