Emili Biarnés and Benedetta Tagliabue are the two names of the Museu del Càntir d'Argentona this summer. In the museum spy of the municipality of Maresme, Emili Biarnés is exhibiting Threshold until September 14, with Tagliabue creating the author's pitcher of this 2025 as an ode to femininity, fusing art, memory and symbolism.
Biarnés is a creator of objects, a sculptor from start to finish, in capital letters, combining a harmonious geometric basis with elements of archaeology and alchemy. In the artistic field, there is nothing more precious than a sincere creator, capable of transmitting with materials his ideas about human existence, the passage of time and its limited nature. He is an artist who explores temporal borders, the displacement between what has already been and what is to come; in short, he constantly invites us to reflect on the threshold, a concept that gives its name to this exhibition.

His work stands out for its use of deep red stoneware and metallic glaze, always with the use of bright reflections and densely worked textures. In the exhibition Llindar at the Museu del Càntir d'Argentona, an immersion in the language of earth and fire is created. "Emili generates objects from a civilization yet to be discovered, which stimulates our imagination, makes us think, therefore, it is up to each viewer to interpret, to let the work speak to us about the possible memory of the objects", explains Maguí Noguer Torres, director of the Valvi Foundation.
Beneddetta Tagliabue and the 2025 author's pitcher
"This pitcher is a tribute to the women who, for millennia, transported water for their families, from springs, rivers or wells, in an everyday and collective gesture. On the side of the pitcher, this fact is remembered through the silhouette of a woman with a pitcher on her head. This piece is a living memory and a tribute to feminine strength. But it is also a tribute to Saint Dominic, patron saint of Argentona, who miraculously preserved the pure and crystal clear water for the lives of all the residents of the town", details the architect.

It includes evocative inscriptions such as “With anise the water is enriched”, a recognition of Enric Miralles, and a mention of Saint Dominic, patron saint of Argentona and name of Tagliabue's son. The choice of pink aims to highlight the feminine and emotional character of the piece, evoking its strength and sensitivity. It is a limited edition of 5,000 numbered copies, measuring 28 × 18 cm.
