Milena Rossignoli and Heidi Valda are the protagonists of the new exhibitions at La Capella in Barcelona. From July 17 to September 28 they will take over this artistic space in the city of Barcelona, with Valda exhibiting at Espai Rampa and Rossignoli creating an individual tour at Espai Capella.

Insania by Heidi Valda is an interactive light and sound installation through the materialization of an automaton, it renounces the pleasure of musical noise , the protagonism of the operator, and reinterprets the image by alluding to its wandering glitch state.

  • Heidi Valda's work at La Capella.

Valda, a Bolivian artist, creates light and interactive spaces inside and outside the screen to focus the gaze on multidisciplinarity as a way of doing, thinking, creating and producing. Upon entering La Capella, it becomes evident with her work that BEING/BEING modifies the parameters of existence and creation. In parallel with the installation, on September 9th the performance Insania will be created with the guest performer: Val del Raval, in addition to seeing the Light Jockey b2b on the 25th of the same month.

In this project, Heidi is inspired by Ingrid Guardiola's thesis that the world today operates as an interface: a network of languages and technological supports that have standardized the ways of constructing meaning. From this perspective, Insania is conceived as an act of symbolic resistance, an interruption of the normative flow that imposes what is understandable, what is desirable, what is real.

Milena Rossignoli exhibits Repeat Bend Coincide where the Quito artist imagines places that are contaminated through their own architecture. Floors, windows and columns. I imagined disciplines that are contaminated through their own will. Drawing, sculpture, ukemi. Repeat, bend, coincide.

Learning will be the key element of the journey, knowing how to fall before flying, always starting the flight from below, avoiding glare and observing flying artifacts as structures. Writing, sculpture, lighting? That which is fleeting, fragile, illuminated: launching oneself into flight from below and absorbing the ground; not offering resistance, being fragile and resistant at the same time.
