Next Thursday, June 5 , between 6:00 p.m. and 10:00 p.m., a new edition of Art Palma Summer returns, the event that marks the arrival of summer in the artistic calendar of the Balearic Islands. This year it celebrates its tenth anniversary with an expanded and diverse program, which will bring together almost fifty exhibitions and more than one hundred artists, both national and international, spread between Palma, Andratx, Pollença and the Illa del Rei in Menorca.
One of the main novelties of this edition is the expansion of the network of galleries of the Art Palma Contemporani (APC) association, which organizes the event. Starting this year, two prominent galleries will be joining: Tube Gallery , located in the Pere Garau neighborhood of Palma, and Hauser & Wirth Menorca , thus consolidating a determined commitment to expanding the scope of the project beyond Mallorca and structuring the contemporary art scene of the entire archipelago.
Tube Gallery , inaugurated in June 2023, is characterized by its dynamism and a clear focus on interculturality and artistic interdisciplinarity, offering a program with emerging and consolidated artists. For its part, Hauser & Wirth Menorca has become a reference since its opening in 2021 on the Illa del Rei, where it combines large-format exhibitions with an educational and sustainability program in a privileged natural environment.

Also noteworthy is the merger of two historic galleries in Palma, LA BIBI Gallery and Galeria Fran Reus , which join forces under the name LA BIBI + REUS , with a new exhibition space of more than 500 m² in the city center. This project is committed to a bold and accessible program, with site-specific projects, residencies, international collaborations and the annual Panorama call, open to emerging artists.
The program of this tenth edition reflects APC's commitment to accessibility , diversity and innovation , with an extended time slot until 10:00 pm and the involvement of both institutional and independent spaces. Among the collaborating entities we find Casal Solleric , Es Baluard Museu d'Art Contemporani de Palma , Fundació Miró Mallorca , La Misericòrdia , Espai Cor and the Museu de Pollença .
This edition pays special attention to women artists, with a notable representation of internationally renowned creators such as Alymamah Rashed , Tecla Tofano , Tabita Rezaire , Johanna von Monkiewitsch , Mika Rottenberg , Patricia Domínguez , Lin and Naja Utzon , among many others. Also noteworthy is the presence of names with great international careers such as Cindy Sherman , Carlos Garaicoa , Thomas Lisle , Ian Hamilton Finlay , Alejandro Campins , Fausto Amundarain , Pace Taylor and Stefan Rinck , who will exhibit in galleries such as Hauser & Wirth Menorca, Galeria Pelaires, Galeria Maior, CCA Andratx and KEWENIG Palma. The local scene will be represented by Balearic artists with recognized careers such as Rafa Forteza , Albert Pinya , Adriana Meunié , Adrián Martínez , Bel Fullana , Fátima de Juan , Grip Face , José Fiol , Maite and Manuel , among others.

One of the most outstanding bets this year is the integration of the University Art Biennial – Art Week 2025 , organized by ADEMA Escola Universitària , which will take place from June 2 to 6 as part of the official program. This biennial will bring together more than 300 students, teachers and researchers from 21 European and American universities in a large collective exhibition that will spread across spaces such as the Coll and Inca campuses, the Barceló Foundation and will later circulate through different municipalities in Mallorca during the summer. This pioneering initiative aims to connect the university world with the professional artistic circuit, promoting intergenerational dialogue and consolidating Mallorca as a center of creation and contemporary thought on an international scale.
A decade of cultural commitment
Since its foundation in 2004, Art Palma Contemporani has worked to promote cultural life in the Balearic Islands and to bring contemporary artistic practices closer to the public. With Art Palma Summer, together with the Art Palma Brunch (March) and the Nit de l'Art (September), the association consolidates a stable and quality artistic calendar, actively contributing to the cultural and tourist fabric of the Islands. This 2025, Art Palma Summer is presented not only as an artistic celebration, but as an open and plural platform that gives voice to contemporary creation from multiple geographies, disciplines and perspectives.
