Tomorrow, June 3 , at 7:00 p.m. , the presentation of the artist's book Bhreg will take place in the Assembly Hall of the Picasso Museum , a limited edition work, signed and numbered, which brings together seven large-format woodcuts created by the artist Jordi Jové , accompanied by three original poems in Catalan by Vicenç Altaió , also translated into Spanish, French and English.
This unique volume explores the interaction between the traditional technique of woodcut—a wood engraving that creates relief images for printing—and poetry, offering a dialogue between image and word. Jové's woodcuts show personal icons and artistic references reinterpreted through memory, while Altaió transfers this graphic vision to the written word . The title Bhreg, which comes from the Indo-European root of “bricoleur”—a person skilled with his hands—reflects the authors' desire to interrogate and explore new dimensions in pictorial art.
The presentation will feature the participation of Vicenç Altaió , poet, essayist and cultural researcher; Jordi Jové , artist; Teresa Blanch Malet , art historian, exhibition curator and former dean of the Faculty of Fine Arts; and Rocío Santa Cruz , gallerist and publisher, founder and director of ArtsLibris.
