Deposits of the National Collection of Photography and Contemporary Art.
Under the Light of the Sea (2019) has as its starting point a personal research work on the story of the little brother of the photographer's grandfather, Tomás Pons Albesa, who was imprisoned and shot in the Camp de la Bota de Barcelona in 1941. In this sense, the images of Espe Pons trace the places where Tomás Pons spent the last moments of his life, empty landscapes without human presence that speak to us from silence and that evoke horror and the repression of the dictatorship.
