The coach of the first men's team of Futbol Club Barcelona, Hansi Flick; the art historian Judit Subirachs, and the historic Granja Viader are the three protagonists of the Ramblista d'Honor 2026 awards. The Amics de La Rambla association has recognized these three figures this year for their contribution to the life of the city, in a ceremony held in the Saló de Cent of the Barcelona City Council that served as the closing ceremony of the Festa Major de La Rambla-Festa del Roser 2026.
Established in 1961, the Ramblists of Honor recognize people and institutions that have contributed to preserving, promoting and enriching Barcelona's identity. In this edition, the jury wanted to highlight three trajectories of very different natures, but linked by their impact on the social, cultural and popular projection of Barcelona.
In the sporting field, Hansi Flick has been distinguished for his commitment, values, perseverance and trust in young people, as well as for his contribution to FC Barcelona's recent successes, which have filled the area around the Canaletes fountain, one of the most emblematic spaces on La Rambla, with celebration. The award was collected on his behalf by the club's first vice-president, Rafael Yuste.
The distinction given to Judit Subirachs recognizes her academic and cultural career, especially the work of preserving, studying and disseminating the artistic legacy of Josep Maria Subirachs. The art historian has contributed to keeping alive the knowledge of the work of one of the outstanding creators of contemporary Catalan sculpture, reinforcing its presence in the cultural memory of the country.
The third recognition went to the Granja Viader, a historic establishment that opened its doors in 1870 and is part of Barcelona's commercial and sentimental heritage. With more than a century and a half of history, this space has maintained a close link with the daily life of the city, preserving a way of understanding traditional commerce and popular gastronomic culture.
The award ceremony was chaired by the Mayor of Barcelona, Jaume Collboni, with the participation of representatives of the municipal government and the president of Amics de La Rambla, Àlex Balletbó. The awards were presented by Joan Subirats, professor of Political Science at the Autonomous University of Barcelona.
The jury for this edition was made up of Gemma Bastida, Jordi Fernández, Sandra Mestres, Joan Oliveras Bagués, Ana Pantaleoni, Meritxell M. Pauné, Ramon Pellicer, Álex Sàlmon, Vicenç Sanclemente, Adrià Serra, Enric Sierra, Roser Tiana and Fermín Villar, in addition to Àlex Balletbó, in his capacity as president of Amics de La Rambla.
