The Castell de Cardona will become the setting for the first edition of OFICI, Traditional Crafts Fair, on November 6, 7 and 8, 2026, an initiative that was born with the desire to claim the cultural, creative and economic value of artisanal crafts and promote their projection in contemporary markets. Organized by the Consortium of Commerce, Crafts and Fashion of Catalonia (CCAM) and the agency Le Département, with the support of the Department of Culture of the Generalitat de Catalunya, the fair offers a meeting place between tradition, innovation and contemporary creation.

OFICI is presented as a platform intended to make artisanal work of excellence visible and to promote exchange between professionals, creators, prescribers and the public. The initiative aims to place craftsmanship in a current context, recognizing it as a practice that combines knowledge, experimentation and the ability to generate cultural and economic value. In this sense, the fair proposes a look at traditional crafts that goes beyond the preservation of techniques and claims their validity as creative languages.

The program will incorporate several exhibition proposals that broaden this perspective. Among them, Crafted Origins , an exhibition by The European Crafts Alliance dedicated to European Geographical Indications, a system for protecting artisanal products linked to a territory of origin, stands out. The exhibition highlights the techniques, knowledge and traditions that define the artisanal identity of different European regions, highlighting the relationship between material heritage, territory and creation.

The international dimension will also be present with the proposal Material Imagination or Poetics of Dirty Hands , promoted by the Creative Industries Institute of Poland. The exhibition explores the relationship between craftsmanship, materials and nature through disciplines that work with clay, wood, glass and natural fibers. The pieces presented establish a dialogue between ancestral techniques and new forms of expression, claiming experimentation, imperfections and respect for natural resources as an essential part of the creative process.

The fair will also feature a case study by the Association for the Study of Furniture (AEM), which will contribute to deepening the knowledge and appreciation of the trades linked to furniture. In addition, visitors will be able to access special conditions to discover the Salt Museum and the Salt Mountain of Cardona, expanding the cultural experience beyond the fairgrounds.
