Georges Didi-Huberman's thought extends beyond writing and theoretical reflection, venturing into the realm of images, experimental cinema, and visual research. With *In the Philosopher's Workshop *, Casa del Lago UNAM offers an exploration of the practical and creative dimension of one of the fundamental thinkers in contemporary philosophy and art history.
Curated by Lucía Montes Sánchez and Eliza Mizrahi Balas, the exhibition brings together for the first time in Mexico their audiovisual pieces and various experimental projects, showing how research can expand through different formats, disciplines and languages.
The workshop thus becomes a metaphor for her working method: a space open to exploration, experimentation, and discovery, where images allow for the establishment of relationships between history, memory, and representation. Far from conceiving of philosophy as a closed system, Didi-Huberman understands it as a practice in constant transformation, guided by curiosity and experimentation.
Author of an extensive body of written work and responsible for exhibition projects such as Sublevaciones , presented at the MUAC in 2018, and En el aire conmovido , shown at the Reina Sofía Museum and the CCCB between 2024 and 2025, the French philosopher has developed a career that connects thought, creation and visual research.
