Laia Estruch (Barcelona, 1981) has unanimously won the fourth edition of the Bosch Aymerich Foundation Sculpture Prize, endowed with 30,000 euros, with Carrau (2026), a work that proposes an approach to sculpture from movement, interaction and bodily experience. The proposal, formed by three inflatable structures located at the entrances of a space, turns the passage between the exterior and the interior into the center of the sculptural action and invites the public to participate in the construction of the route.

The jury highlighted Carrau 's ability to activate space and rethink its limits, as well as the way in which he establishes an inseparable relationship between sculpture, architecture and performative action. The piece shifts attention from the sculptural object as an autonomous element towards a conception in which the body, traffic and the relationship with the environment become essential parts of the work. The jury is made up of Ainhoa Grandes, president of the Fundació Museu d'Art Contemporani de Barcelona (MACBA) and of the jury itself; Andrés Escarpenter, patron of the Fundació Bosch Aymerich; Nuria Enguita, artistic director of the Museu d'Art Contemporani de Lisbon; Alexandra Laudo, independent curator, and Juan Várez, collector and patron of the Fundación ARCO and the Fundación Museo ABC.

With a degree in Fine Arts from the University of Barcelona and with part of her training at The Cooper Union in New York, Estruch has developed an artistic practice located between sculpture and performative action. The voice and the body constitute the axes of a research that explores the possibilities of movement, sound and language through structures conceived as spaces for experimentation. Her work has been presented in institutions such as the Reina Sofía Museum, the National Museum of Art of Catalonia (MNAC) and the MACBA.

The Bosch Aymerich Foundation Sculpture Prize aims to promote artistic creation, with special attention to sculptural practice and its possibilities for dialogue with architecture. This relationship refers to two fundamental disciplines in the career of the architect Josep Maria Bosch Aymerich: architecture, to which he dedicated himself professionally, and sculpture, present in both his projects and his art collection.
