Art can become a tool for social transformation when creation and solidarity share the same space. With this premise, Càritas Pla de l'Estany is promoting the second edition of Art solidari, an exhibition that brings together a selection of works of art available for sale with a charitable purpose. The opening will take place on Friday, October 23, at 7 p.m., at the Espai Eat Art in Banyoles, with the support of the Fundació Lluís Coromina Isern.

The initiative proposes a way of approaching art that goes beyond aesthetic contemplation and incorporates a dimension of commitment to the environment. The funds raised from the sale of the works will be used to continue the social action projects that Càritas develops in Pla de l'Estany, aimed at supporting families, children, young people and other people who find themselves in situations of vulnerability.
In this context, acquiring a work also becomes a way of participating in a community support network. Culture acts as a meeting point between artists, the public and citizens, and opens up the possibility that collecting and artistic enjoyment can directly contribute to sustaining local social initiatives.
