Drawing to see differently, to explore the environment and to discover everything that can arise from a spontaneous gesture. Barcelona Dibuixa returns this weekend with a new edition that claims drawing as an open, accessible practice linked to everyday life. On October 17th and 18th, the city becomes a large shared workshop where artists, citizens and visitors can experiment with line, imagination and movement, without the final result being the main objective.

In its seventeenth edition, the festival consolidates the will to explore new ways of understanding and practicing drawing, moving it away from the idea that it is a skill reserved for those who master a technique. Drawing before thinking, doing it with the hands and the body, observing what surrounds us or letting the imagination guide the gesture are some of the proposals that define this experience. Drawing is thus presented as a form of attention and connection with the environment, capable of uniting emotion, thought and action.

The initiative deploys its activities in more than forty cultural and local facilities, which open the doors to workshops and experiences led by leading artists. Museums, civic centers, libraries, art schools and heritage spaces become settings for sharing creative processes and discovering new ways of relating to images. Each activity proposes a particular path, but they all share the same idea: the value of drawing does not lie solely in what remains on paper, but also in everything that happens while it is being created.

The poster for this edition is the work of Camille Vannier, who poses a direct invitation to draw without fear and without stopping. His proposal claims the freedom to create without worrying excessively about the quality of the result, as an impulse to throw oneself into the experience and leave insecurities behind. An attitude that synthesizes the spirit of the festival and that places the creative process, play and experimentation at the center.
