Estampa 2026 recognizes its award winners and expands the map of contemporary art

The 34th edition of Estampa is drawing to a close with a wide array of awards, recognitions, and acquisitions that highlight contemporary art and the addition of new works to public and private collections. Until Sunday, September 27, Hall 5 of IFEMA MADRID is hosting this latest edition of the fair, which once again places collecting and supporting artists at the heart of its program.

The regional government has awarded the Community of Madrid/Estampa Prize to the artist FOD for Cuernos (2019), presented by the T20 gallery. The work will be added to the collection of the Dos de Mayo Art Center Museum (CA2M), in Móstoles, expanding the public funds dedicated to contemporary art.

The Madrid City Council has also announced the acquisition of three works by Eugenio Ampudia, presented by the Max Estrella Gallery; Rufo Criado; and Philipp Fröhlich, from the Juan Silió Gallery. These pieces will become part of the collection of the Museum of Contemporary Art of Madrid, reinforcing the presence of diverse languages and generations of contemporary art in the city's holdings.

These acquisitions are complemented by Paradores' initiative, which adds three new pieces to its art collection: works by Cristina García Rodero, represented by the Blanca Berlín gallery; Prudencio Irazábal, of Artnueve; and Alejandro Monge, of 3 Punts. The acquired works will be permanently displayed in various establishments within the Paradores network, thus extending access to contemporary art beyond museum and exhibition spaces.

The Studiolo Collection Prize has recognized Luis Matías Santos, of Blanca Berlín; Raquel Lobo, of Llamazares; and Rosa Aguilar, of DiGallery, in this edition. The Campocerrado Foundation has awarded Amaya Suberviola, of the Moisés Pérez de Albéniz Gallery, while the Navacerrada Collection has recognized the work of Victoria Civera, presented by the Siboney Gallery.

The list of awards continues with the Kells Collection Prize, which has been awarded to Claudia Pastomás of Vangar and An Wei of Twin Gallery. The Cervezas Alhambra Prize has gone to Red – Alga (2026) by Irene Trapote, represented by the Guillermina Caicoya Gallery, while the Eurostars Hotel Company Acquisition Prize has been awarded to Pablo Merchante of Río & Meñaka.

The Alejandro Bethancourt Collection has awarded the prize to Intimate Bond by Arik Levy, presented by Marquesa Gallery. In the private collections category, the SERO Art Collection Prize has been awarded to Edmundo García of Panartería.

Raquel Lobo of Llamazares and Marcela Cantuária of Marquesa Gallery also received the Manuel Expósito Collection Prize. The Chicheri Prize was awarded to Eline Boerma of Villazán Gallery, while the ATMA Art House residency, based in Budapest, was granted to Anita de la Cuadra of Garage Bonilla.

The awards section is completed with the Best Stand Estampa 2026 award, which went to the Antonia Puyó gallery, from Zaragoza, highlighting its proposal within the fair as a whole.
