The MAMM, venue for the Bonart International presentation in Medellín

The Museum of Modern Art of Medellín (MAMM) will be one of the venues for the presentation of the third international issue of Bonart next Tuesday, September 22, coinciding with the magazine's presence in Colombia during ArtBO week. The choice of MAMM places this event in a significant context. This publishing house is located in one of the country's main centers of modern and contemporary art and the South American cultural scene.

The presentation will take place in a museum whose current programming reflects the diversity of languages and concerns that permeate contemporary art. Among the exhibitions, Pedro Gómez-Egaña's "The Years of Stone" stands out, establishing a dialogue between the domestic and the geological based on the geography of Antioquia and the industrial history of the building that houses the MAMM, a former steel plant linked to coal mining. Curated by Cristina Vasco, the exhibition is open to the public from September 10th.

The program also includes *The Movement of a River Record *, Gala Porras-Kim's first institutional exhibition in Colombia. In her projects, the artist explores the relationships between museums, archives, and power structures, questioning the mechanisms that determine which objects are preserved, how they are interpreted, and how cultural narratives are constructed. The exhibition is curated by Natalia Valencia Arango and Astrid González.

Another proposal is La boca donde el agua engendra el agua (The mouth where water gives birth to water) , by Carolina Chacón and Félix Blume, an exhibition that addresses the ocean as a space of memory, death and transformation through imaginaries linked to Afro-descendant cultures and different spiritual entities.

Sound takes center stage in Enjambre (Swarm) , an installation curated by Jorge Barco that brings together 250 small speakers suspended from the ceiling to reproduce the flight of as many bees. The work transforms a multitude of individual sounds into a collective experience that changes as the visitor moves through the space.

The program is completed by Sentir tu peso , by Iván Argote, presented as a fourth-floor project and curated by Marielsa Castro.
