The Sala La Carbonera MHG will inaugurate a collective exhibition with 30 original works inspired by Lepret, by Edu Sívori
The exhibition will bring together works by 56 visual artists, illustrators and tattoo artists who have shaped Lepret's universe through very diverse techniques and visual languages.
Starting on September 4, the Sala La Carbonera MHG in Girona will host a new temporary exhibition made up of a total of 30 original pieces that complement the book Testimonis de Lepret II, autors per l'esperança , about the legend created by Edu Sívori Alt.
This book is part of a collective project and will be presented by Pere Parramon i Rubio, PhD in Art History and Master in Communication and Art Criticism from the University of Girona.
With this event, the Sala La Carbonera MHG becomes a meeting point for different disciplines, while also vindicating the strength of collaborative creation and the capacity of the image to build shared stories.
According to its organizers, the exhibition brings together the work of up to fifty-six visual artists, illustrators and tattoo artists, who have graphically captured Lepret's universe using very varied techniques, styles and visual languages.
The works on display aim to allow visitors to discover up close the originals that have contributed to shaping the volume and expand its reading beyond its pages.
It should be remembered that Edu Sívori, poet, art therapist and psychologist, together with Oriol Tuca, artist and illustrator, promotes the publishing house El Vecindario Pabellón 6. Approximately ten years ago, Sívori created the legend of Lepret, which gave rise to a first book entitled Testimonios de Lepret and which was based on the life of Monjo Lepret, who was a stone man, despised and denigrated by society, who hid in the streets of the old town. Despite being a good and fair person, he was not loved by the inhabitants of the town and had a very bad time, to the point that a curse turned him into stone.
That first publication laid the foundations of the narrative and visual universe that now continues to grow with this new edition and with the exhibition of original works in the Sala La Carbonera MHG.
