Moscardó and Danilo F, at the Cadaqués Friendship Society
Two exhibitions that vindicate the artistic view of Cadaqués and its landscape.
Until the end of this August, the Sala Meifrèn of the Cadaqués Friendship Society is exhibiting the temporary exhibition Intemporari by the Moscardó brothers.
In this exhibition, Josep Moscardó (Barcelona, 1953) and Ramón Moscardó, twin brother of Josep (Barcelona, 1953), present a review of their artistic career with different works, which show both their affinities and the differences between their ways of painting.
Many of his works feature spaces from Cadaqués, a city with which he has a very important artistic relationship. Along with two other pieces, in the center of the room stands out a large painting with drone views of Cadaqués, as well as works that reproduce the celebration of the festa major and its customs, balconies of the town and portraits of women with animals, as well as some iron sculptures that reproduce these women. His style, which is very vitalist, tends to illuminate all his compositions, which play masterfully with perspective and the organization of space.
Danilo F, the artist who paints the counter doors
On the other hand, on July 24 and until August 30, the Salvadoran artist Danilo Fernández (El Salvador, 1954) inaugurated his latest work, The Passage of Time , on the second floor of the Societat de l'Amistat de Cadaqués.
This exhibition displays everything from oils on canvas to watercolors that Fernández has been painting over the past year. Danilo, who has installed his prized easel in the exhibition hall of the Cadaqués Friendship Society, is dedicated to painting and attending to the visits of curious visitors to his exhibition.
In this exhibition, most of his works reproduce the landscapes, seas and Mediterranean light of this emblematic area of Alt Empordà, as well as marine scenes and the boats that are moored next to the town's promenade.
Danilo explained that the Cadaqués City Council has commissioned him to make two murals and that "I have been painting one for approximately ten years and I have already finished it". He also commented that he has dedicated himself to painting the doors of the counters of the houses with the aim of improving the aesthetics of the public space, reducing the visual impact and, at the same time, highlighting the landscape, historical and cultural heritage of Cadaqués. It should be said that this initiative has been carried out by the CREA association of Cadaqués, which is a collective for the Representation and Artistic Evolution of Cadaqués and has been promoted by the people of the town to respond to cultural and local needs and recover the artistic fabric of Cadaqués.
Other exhibitions scheduled for September and October are the collective exhibition Entorn al papel , from September 4 to 27, and the Brigitte Cailleau exhibition, from September 4 to 27 (second floor). This exhibition cycle will conclude with the exhibition In Cadaqués, Festival de Fotografia , from October 8 to 25, 2026.
Regarding visiting hours, in July and August the exhibition halls of the Cadaqués Friendship Society are open to the public from 5:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. Admission is free.
