Binéfar vindicates urban art with music and augmented reality

The Culture and Youth departments of the Binéfar City Council are launching this August Ciudad Viva: art, technology and music , a new cultural cycle that proposes converting the town's urban spaces into stages for creation, music and the discovery of artistic heritage.

The initiative includes two free musical performances, scheduled for Thursday, August 6 and 20 at 10:00 p.m., as well as the presentation of a new route that allows visitors to visit different artistic manifestations created in Binéfar in recent years.

Ciudad Viva was born with the desire to generate a hybrid urban artistic ecosystem, in which mural art, technology and music establish new dialogues with the streets and the memory of the city. One of the main protagonists is the artist Wert, author of several murals made in Binéfar since 2019 and also of his most recent work, located on Tamarite Street.

The technological proposal incorporates an augmented reality experience linked to the new mural on Tamarite Street and four previous works by the artist, created annually since 2019. In this way, the murals become points on an itinerary that allows you to discover the artistic transformation of different spaces in Binéfar.

The route also incorporates the town's sculptures and other artistic interventions, with the aim of offering a new perspective on the urban landscape. Its presentation will be accompanied by the augmented reality experience and the two musical proposals of the program.

The first performance will be by Lorena Margalló, who will present the recital Mujeres que habitan en mí on Thursday, August 6, in front of the mural on La Iglesia Street. Wert's work represents an old print of Binéfar, with several children playing in the street, and establishes a direct link between contemporary artistic creation and the city's everyday memory.

The series will continue on Thursday, August 20th with a performance by The Drumkeys, a groove jazz band that will perform in front of Wert's most recent mural, located on Tamarite Street.

This work is based on a historical image of the giants and big heads of Binéfar and recovers a significant element of the collective memory and local festive heritage. The mural thus establishes a dialogue between tradition and contemporary urban art, one of the central ideas of 'Ciudad Viva'.
