Olot becomes a great photographic scene during the month of August with the celebration of the XV Olot Photography Biennial, a consolidated event that brings photography to different spaces and corners of the capital of La Garrotxa. The program brings together forty exhibitions, as well as workshops, talks and various activities around photographic creation.

From August 2 to 31, the city is hosting a completely free event that allows you to discover the works of photographers from different backgrounds and sensibilities. The exhibitions are distributed across different locations in Olot, so the photographic tour also becomes a way of discovering the city and its most unique spaces.

Organized by the Olot Fotografia association, the Biennial is a biennial festival whose main objective is to bring photography closer to the general public in a direct and experiential way. During August, the images leave conventional exhibition spaces and literally occupy the city, establishing new dialogues between the works, the architecture and the urban space.

With a consolidated history, the Olot Photography Biennial is considered the oldest photography festival in Spain. Throughout its editions, it has maintained a commitment to giving visibility to new photographers and, at the same time, offering the public a broad overview of the different ways of understanding and practicing contemporary photography.

The program combines exhibitions with participatory and outreach activities, such as workshops and talks, which allow for a deeper understanding of the creative processes and the multiple possibilities of photographic language.
