The form before the shape
The form of what happened, curated by Àlex Palacín, turns Les Golfes de Casa Canals into a space where materials, objects and architecture question their functions and establish new relationships.
Laura Juanós presents at Les Golfes de Casa Canals del Mèdol La forma de lo ocurrido , an exhibition curated by Àlex Palacín that can be visited from June 5 to August 23. Born in Vila-seca and trained in design, jewelry and fine arts, the artist has built a career focused on the study of material processes and the relationships that are established between objects, space and the gestures that make them possible.
The exhibition starts from a borderland, where architecture ceases to respond exclusively to a constructive function and approaches the sculptural language, while sculpture acquires qualities specific to architectural space. Without seeking a definitive answer, Juanós proposes a journey in which the pieces are constantly related, modifying the perception of the observer and altering the roles they were apparently assigned.
The elements on display establish a changing dialogue in which support and protagonist exchange positions. What seemed structural becomes protagonist, while other forms recede to become part of the background. This continuous displacement generates a feeling of unstable balance, in which the exhibition space itself ceases to be a simple container to actively participate in the construction of the meaning of the work.
In Laura Juanós' practice, reflection is not limited to the final result. Each decision—from the choice of materials to the way of occupying the room or establishing tensions between the different elements—is part of the artistic discourse. Her works do not aspire to impose a definitive form, but rather preserve the traces of the processes that have made them possible, turning the transformation and memory of the materials into the true protagonists of the exhibition.
