The Art and Culture Centre of the Provincial Council in Tortosa is hosting until August 28th A Day in the Farmhouse , an installation by the artist and designer Josep Poblet Ventura (Vila-seca, 1994) that explores the relationship between light, architecture and the Mediterranean landscape. The proposal, conceived specifically for this space, turns a traditional farmhouse into the starting point of a poetic reflection on the way light transforms spaces and gives them meaning.

The exhibition recreates the passage of a full day, from sunrise to sunset, using the incidence of light on architectural elements and the natural environment to reveal the beauty of the simplest gestures. The farmhouse ceases to be just a rural construction to become a symbol of the landscape and shared memory, a space where everyday life becomes an aesthetic experience.

Beyond the exhibition result, A Day at the Farm stands out for its collaborative creation process. Josep Poblet has developed the project with the participation of students from the monographic courses in ceramics, stained glass, ethnological restoration and photography at the Centre d'Art i Cultura, incorporating their knowledge and sensibilities into a work conceived from a dialogue between disciplines. This methodology makes the exhibition an example of co-creation, where artistic training and professional practice come together in the same project.

The inauguration also served to present the center's new Artistic Residency Program, of which Poblet is the first invited artist. The initiative aims to promote creative processes open to the territory and establish links between creators, students and the community, making the center a space for artistic production and experimentation beyond its teaching function.

During the inaugural event, the Deputy for Social and Cultural Promotion of the Provincial Council, Óscar Sánchez, underlined the symbolic value of the Mediterranean farmhouse as an identity element of the territory and highlighted the importance of involving students in real creative processes, an experience that reinforces their training and brings them closer to contemporary artistic practice.

The artist offered a guided tour of the installation, explaining the process of creating the work and the ideas that have shaped a project where light acts as a creative material and architecture becomes the setting for a leisurely look at the landscape.

A day at the farmhouse can be visited at the Art and Culture Centre of the Provincial Council in Tortosa (Plaça de Sant Joan, 5) until August 28. After this first artistic residency, the programme will continue with new guest creators, including photographer Pep Escoda and artist Sarah Misselbrook, consolidating a line of work that focuses on contemporary creation linked to the territory and participation.
