The Valencian Institute of Modern Art (IVAM) presents its summer program under the title “You can't feel the west in the museum” , a proposal that transforms the museum into a space for play, discovery and interaction during the summer months. The program focuses on free and accessible activities that invite audiences of all ages to inhabit the museum in a playful and participatory way, while consolidating it as a climate refuge from the high temperatures in the city of Valencia.

Among the highlights is the new interactive workshop Landscapes and Sound Creatures , designed for audiences of all ages and designed as an immersive experience that combines art, play and sensory experimentation. The activity begins with a visit to the Radix exhibition by artist Tania Candiani, designed to stimulate the sensory perception of the participants. The workshop then moves to IVAMLab1, where participants create imaginary ecosystems in groups that are projected in real time, generating visual compositions of light and shadow.

The program also reinforces its offer for early childhood with specifically adapted spaces. Highlights the return of El racó de llum , a free free play space for babies and young children, which in this edition adapts colors and materials to the Tania Candiani exhibition. This pedagogical device, based on the exploration of light as an educational tool, incorporates as a novelty the projection of the animated work Suimenka , by the artist Ruth Gómez, initially conceived for the Spanish pavilion of the Osaka Expo 2025.

The images of this animation also extend beyond the screens to occupy the space of IVAMLab3, where Gómez's aquatic animal figures intervene in the Moguda! family library, filling it with moving shapes and colors. This reading and rest space for early childhood remains open free of charge during the museum's regular opening hours.

In parallel, the well-known Soft Room continues to function as a rest and play space for families with babies up to twelve months old. The museum also offers visits adapted for families with babies, which allow you to tour the exhibitions with attention to the needs of the little ones, even with the possibility of feeding them during the visit.

The family program is completed with several intergenerational activities. One of the proposals is La veueta del museu , a sung tour of the exhibitions by soprano Quiteria Muñoz and mediator Sonia Gil, which proposes a different way of listening to and perceiving works of art. Also included is a workshop that brings together grandparents with grandchildren to get to know the work of Julio González, as well as L'art més animat , an activity that introduces participants to the basic principles of experimental cinema through the stop motion technique, also based on the figure of the artist himself.

In addition, throughout the summer, guided tours of the museum's exhibitions are held, including Cristina de Middel. Apoteosis Now , La Albufera , The aura of a modern saga: Ignacio, José and Marisa Pinazo , The IVAM collection to date , Territories in transit/Solo duo: Irene Grau & Marco Giordano and Tania Candiani.
