Grenoble will host the 49th edition of the Festival du Film Court en Plein Air from June 25th to 27th, organized by the Cinémathèque de Grenoble. Considered the oldest short film festival in France, the event has maintained a constant commitment to promoting short films and discovering new cinematic voices since 1978.
The program will be split between the Cinéma Juliet Berto and the evening screenings in the Jardin de Ville, one of the festival's iconic venues. It includes a general competition featuring fiction, documentary, animation, and experimental films, bringing together established filmmakers and emerging artists. There will also be a competition for children aged two and a half and up.
The festival will continue throughout the week with special screenings at other venues in the city, including Le Club, Mon Ciné, and Le Ciel. It will also revive one of its traditional events, the Nuit Blanche de courts métrages, a marathon of screenings programmed by L'Agence du court métrage that will run until the early hours of the morning.
Among the new features of this edition is a session dedicated to horror films, made up of films selected in the official competition, as well as "Cool Kids", a program of short films aimed at a teenage audience.
