Barcelona is taking a step forward in reinterpreting the legacy of Antoni Gaudí with the creation of the Gaudí Teresianes Museum, a new cultural facility that will be located in the historic Col·legi de les Teresianes, on Ganduxer Street. The building, designed by Gaudí himself between 1888 and 1890, will open its doors to the general public for the first time as a museum space from early 2028.

The initiative coincides with a particularly significant context for the city: the Pope's visit to Barcelona, the celebration of the Gaudí Year and the 150th anniversary of the founding of the Company of Saint Teresa of Jesus. These milestones reinforce the symbolic value of the project, which has also received authorization from the Vatican.

The new museum was born with the desire to expand the story of Gaudí beyond his most iconic works and consolidate a deeper look at his spiritual, educational and human dimension. The Teresian School, until now practically inaccessible, thus becomes a key piece to understand the architect's creative evolution and his connection with the values promoted by Enric d'Ossó and the Teresian tradition.

The museum project is committed to an immersive and contemporary experience, combining heritage, research and technology. The proposal will include audiovisual resources, multimedia installations, models, original documents and facsimiles, as well as virtual restorations and architectural projections that will allow a more accessible and sensorial reading of Gaudí's universe.

Among the highlighted spaces will be the Gaudí 360º Space, dedicated to a comprehensive tour of the architect's life and work; a floor dedicated to temporary exhibitions focused on concepts such as transcendence or beauty; and a digital room with virtual reality experiences that will allow visitors to delve into Gaudí's creative process.

In addition, the project foresees the partial opening of the building's garden, offering visitors a new point of contemplation of the architecture and its surroundings.
