Cultural associationism, key to cultural rights in Catalonia
Councilor Hernández Almodóvar highlights the importance of cultural associations in the defense of cultural rights.
As part of the celebration of Cultural Associations Day, the Minister of Culture, Sònia Hernández Almodóvar, has underlined the fundamental role that cultural associations play in guaranteeing cultural rights in Catalonia. This day, which is held from 1 to 7 June, seeks to recognize and promote the work of these entities in the preservation and dissemination of Catalan culture.
Hernández Almodóvar stated that cultural associations are essential for social cohesion and cultural diversity, highlighting that these organizations are a driving force for citizen participation. "Associations are a reflection of society and play a key role in defending the cultural rights of all citizens," he declared during his speech.
In addition, the Minister recalled that the Government of the Generalitat is committed to supporting cultural initiatives that arise from civil society. In this regard, she announced that measures are being implemented to facilitate access to resources and training for associations, as well as to promote their collaboration with other cultural agents and institutions.
The celebration of Cultural Association Day includes a series of activities throughout the Catalan territory, with the aim of raising awareness among the population about the importance of these entities and their contribution to local culture. The activities scheduled range from workshops and talks to shows and exhibitions, which allow citizens to learn first-hand about the richness of the cultural associative fabric.
With this initiative, the Government aims to strengthen the visibility of cultural associations and promote their work in the defense and promotion of cultural rights, an aspect that it considers fundamental for the development of a more just and equitable society.
