Catalan circus is consolidating itself on the international scene thanks to the MERIDIAN(s) program, which promotes the dissemination of circus arts in Germany. This initiative, promoted by the Association of Circus Professionals of Catalonia (APCC), has brought around forty artistic proposals to various German festivals, allowing Catalan artists to showcase their talent to a wider audience.
The MERIDIAN(s) program was created with the aim of promoting cultural exchanges between Catalonia and Germany, and in this edition, the performances will take place at renowned festivals such as Tête-à-Tête , which will take place in Rastatt from June 3 to 7, 2026. This festival is known for its offer of international artists and its commitment to street theater.
In addition to Rastatt, other German cities will host Catalan circus shows, including performances by companies such as Roi Borrallas and Barbaren Barbies, who will present their creations in an environment that seeks to bring art closer to the public in a direct and accessible way.
Participation in international festivals not only offers a platform for artists, but also enriches the Catalan cultural panorama. The diversity of proposals presented, ranging from physical comedy to aerial dance, reflects the creativity and innovation of Catalan circus.
The MERIDIAN(s) program is a unique opportunity for the internationalization of Catalan circus, and the APCC continues to work to establish connections that allow Catalan artists to expand their horizons. With this initiative, Catalan circus not only becomes visible, but also reaffirms itself as one of the most dynamic and creative cultural sectors in the country.
