The international contemporary art fair ARCO Madrid will once again have a prominent presence from the Catalan artistic community in the edition that will be held from March 4 to 8 in Madrid. A total of 17 Catalan galleries will participate in this new call, consolidating the role of Catalonia as one of the most relevant creative focuses within the artistic scene of the State and the international panorama.
Among the galleries that will take part are established names such as Àngels Barcelona, Bombon Projects, Chiquita Room, Galeria Marc Domènech, Galeria Mayoral, Polígrafa Obra Gràfica, Rociosantacruz and Galeria Senda, as well as the addition of Spiritvessel, which is joining the Madrid event this year. This representation highlights the plurality and vitality of Catalan gallery art, with proposals that range from the historical avant-garde to the most experimental and emerging practices.
Beyond the strictly exhibition participation, the Catalan presence will also have a relevant role in the professional program of the fair. Several agents of contemporary art from the country will intervene in the ARCOmadrid Forum, a space for debate and reflection that brings together collectors, curators, directors of institutions and artists. These interventions will contribute to situating the Catalan artistic discourse within the great current debates on creation, market, sustainability and internationalization.
Likewise, Catalan institutions and private companies will participate in initiatives aimed at promoting acquisitions and strengthening the recognition of artistic creation. This support is key to consolidating the market and for the external projection of the represented artists, facilitating the entry of works into public and private collections everywhere.
The Catalan presence will also be noticeable in several of the 38 artist projects presented by 41 galleries within the fair's curated programs, as well as in ArtsLibris, the space dedicated to contemporary publishing and artist books. In this area, publishers and projects linked to Catalonia will reinforce the transversal dimension of participation, expanding the dialogue between visual arts, publishing and critical thinking.
With this outstanding participation, ARCOmadrid 2026 confirms itself, once again, as a strategic platform for the internationalization of the Catalan art sector and as a privileged showcase to show its capacity for innovation, the solidity of its gallery network and the quality of its creators to a global audience.
