The 3 Punts gallery in Barcelona presents a new temporary exhibition starring Lara Pradilla with the project The Pretenders , which opens on November 5 and can be visited until January 3, 2026.

The artist, known for her creative versatility, works in disciplines such as painting, sculpture, dance, performance and fashion design. Through an essentially figurative language, Pradilla explores the power of female representation, playing with the deformation of the body and a rich palette of colors and textures that invite reflection on the identity, strength and presence of women in contemporary art.

  • The Mayan, 2025.

Lara Pradilla takes over from Gerard Mas' Pathscope where the Madrid artist's work becomes a true gender claim, where the female body is both protagonist and metaphor. Her creations shape a visual narrative of strength and resistance: oversized hands that act as symbols of power and action, or robust and rooted feet that evoke the constancy and determination of women in their daily struggle for space and voice within society.

For Pradilla, art is not an object of passive contemplation, but an instrument of dialogue and transformation. Her artistic practice is erected as a political gesture, a space where beauty and denunciation coexist to question established canons and claim new forms of feminine expression.

  • The great bathers, 2025.

Her vibrant and diverse aesthetic is a celebration of the plurality of bodies, an ode to all identities that escape imposed norms. Through color, texture and expressive deformation, Pradilla proposes an inclusive and authentic look, which breaks with the stereotypical representation of women and invites the viewer to rethink the limits between vulnerability and power, between intimacy and public presence.

For Lara Padilla, art goes far beyond simple contemplation: it is a living and dynamic territory, a tool with which to intervene and question reality. The artist conceives of her practice as a space of action and political commitment, where each work becomes a form of resistance and dialogue with the world around her.

His aesthetic proposal is, at the same time, a celebration of body and identity diversity. Padilla portrays bodies of all kinds with the desire to break stereotypes and promote a view based on equality, authenticity and freedom of expression. In his visual universe, difference is not only accepted, but becomes a source of beauty and creative power.
