Coinciding with the last days of the exhibition Fabular paisatges , these conferences inaugurate a new space for reflection, structured around three axes—Exhibit, Narrate and Fabulate—, with the aim of questioning established narratives and exploring new ways of doing things.
Curated by Manuel Borja-Villel, Lluís Alexandre Casanovas Blanco and Beatriz Martínez Hijazo, and promoted by the Department of Culture of the Generalitat de Catalunya, Fabular paisatges offers a critical and collective reflection on colonial memory, landscape, public space and the genealogies of the encyclopedic museum, with more than 120 works brought together.
In this context, the Habitat Museum is promoting a new moment of synthesis and review of perspectives with the call for the international meeting Contrariar abismes. Poètiques d'escala , which will take place from 1 to 4 October at the Tàpies Museum. Structured around three conceptual axes —exhibit, narrate and fable—, these conferences seek to revisit questions, contradictions and proposals, with the aim of generating new paths that allow transformative movements and the construction of other spaces and ways of doing things. “Contrariar abismes. Poètiques d'escala is conceived as an open space in which the tensions and learnings of Fable landscapes become new possibilities for action and thought”, states Manuel Borja-Villel, director of the Habitat Museum program of the Department of Culture of the Generalitat de Catalunya.

Habitat Museum: two years of transformative history
In its first two years, the Museu Habitat program has consolidated a space for reflection, exchange, production and experimentation around the history and contemporary practices of the museum. It has become a living, flexible and constantly transforming organism, connecting diverse communities and generating spaces for dialogue and action that often break with established norms.
This journey has been developed thanks to the work of a diverse team of artists, curators, activists and cultural managers, who have collaborated in the creation of meetings, actions and projects that explore new ways of relating to the museum. Among the groups involved in this research and mediation process are Entrar Afuera, IDRA and Transductores, who have contributed innovative and critical approaches.
The program team has had the participation of a wide variety of professionals: Beatriz Martínez Hijazo, Daniel G. Andújar, Entrar Afuera, Gemma Sendra, Helios Fernández Garcés, IDRA, Itziar Zuazu, Jordi Vernís, Lluís Alexandre Casanovas Blanco, Mabel Tapia, Manuel Borja-Villel, Mariona Teixidor, Núria Hernández, Sol García Galland, Transductores, Victoria Sacco and Víctor Pérez Ballestero. Thanks to this diverse and transversal collaboration, Museu Habitat has become a laboratory of ideas and practices that question traditional narratives and open up new possibilities for action and thought.
