CONTEMPORANIA about to open its doors at the Palau de Pedralbes

From October 2 to 4, 2025, Barcelona once again becomes the epicenter of high contemporary craftsmanship with the second edition of CONTEMPORANIA . The Palau de Pedralbes, an emblematic venue of the city, will host this celebration dedicated to artisanal excellence, where tradition and innovation dialogue in an exquisite encounter of creativity and technique.

Before officially opening its doors, CONTEMPORANIABarcelona High Craftsmanship experienced a preview of what will be this great celebration of contemporary high craftsmanship with a first chapter at Soho House in Barcelona. This preliminary meeting allowed attendees to discover the details of an international event with a biennial character, offering an exclusive look at its artistic proposal, the most outstanding pieces and the philosophy that guides the initiative. A start marked by the words of Paulo Ribeiro, founder and director of CONTEMPORANIA Barcelona, as well as David Places representing the Consortium of Commerce, Crafts and Fashion, Henar Iglesias, winner of best craftswomen 2023 and Mariouche Gagné, director of the Conseil des métiers d'art du Québec.

During the presentation, with works exhibited by Kiara Pellissiero Henar Iglesias, guests were able to learn first-hand about the selection of creators, the diversity of artisanal techniques and the importance of contemporary craftsmanship as a bridge between tradition and innovation. Bonart, as the official media of the event, accompanied this evening, highlighting the relevance of CONTEMPORANIA as a global platform for dialogue between artists, collectors and the art-loving public.

The fair will bring together more than 150 creators from all over the world, who will show their talent through disciplines as diverse as ceramics, glass, textiles, jewelry, wood, metal, paper and mixed media. Both independent artists and galleries, associations and international delegations participate, making the event a true showcase of global creativity.

With the support of the Generalitat de Catalunya, through the Consortium of Commerce, Crafts and Fashion (CCAM), CONTEMPORANIA is committed to excellence, sustainability and innovation, consolidating craftsmanship as a cultural and economic engine of international projection. The fair not only celebrates technical mastery, but also reaffirms the relevance of contemporary craftsmanship in the global creative panorama.

The curatorial concept is articulated in three axes, the first of which is: Memory: materials with history. Memory is not conceived as nostalgia, but as an active dialogue with the past. Each fiber, wood grain or ceramic thread preserves stories that the artisans reinterpret, transforming them into a contemporary and radical language. In a world that often forgets and discards, the craft becomes the guardian of memory, preserving tradition and projecting it into the present.
