MATRIA: Núria Rossell rewrites the memory of the land with art that inhabits the soul
bonart zaragoza - 11/09/25

Núria Rossell's Matria is presented as a symbolic and living territory, a space that is not conquered, but inhabited. The exhibition seeks to recover the ancestral connection between land and memory, highlighting fundamental values such as care, transmission, and inherited wisdom. In a world marked by domination and violence, Matria stands as a reminder of the importance of maintaining alive the ties to our roots and to the knowledge that spans generations.

  • Red Dress Day 14, 2023.

From September 14th to October 31st, a new temporary exhibition will be presented at the Urban Gallery in Pastriz (Zaragoza) inviting you to immerse yourself in a universe where memory, nature, and creation intertwine. The exhibition is inspired by the voices of grandmothers, the eternal cycles of nature, and the power of matter, which is transformed into creative gestures and forms that engage with the present.

Art, in this context, becomes a ritual and an act of resistance. Color, graphics, installations, and matter come together to preserve and amplify the voices of the women who have sustained us generation after generation. Each work serves as a bridge between past and present, between the tangible and the symbolic, inviting the viewer to recognize the power of collective memory and the ancestral wisdom that accompanies us.

  • The Red Thread, 2023.

Through this experience, the exhibition proposes a rethinking of our relationship with the world, with the land, and with the roots that define us, showing how artistic creation can be an act of care, transmission, and resistance in the face of times marked by violence and domination.

The exhibition brings together a group of pieces in which the color red comes to life, unifying all the installations under a common thread. From Requiem for a Dead Woman , through The Day of the Red Dress , to the installation Natural Cycles , where permanence and renewal, stillness and flow are intertwined, the circle becomes a central image of the feminine worldview. The exhibition concludes with artist's books that reinforce red as a bold and meaningful color.
