Taylor Anton White, winner of the 2025 Jordi Fulla Award
The San Diego artist wins the second edition of the award given by Piramidón.
The winner of the second edition of the Jordi Fulla 2025 Artistic Residency Award has been announced. From more than 200 applications received, the jury has chosen artist Taylor Anton White, who will enjoy a two-month residency in Barcelona, with accommodation and a private studio at the Piramidón Contemporary Art Centre. This stay offers support for the development of artistic projects, access to the centre's resources and the opportunity to participate in cultural activities and exhibitions.
The Jordi Fulla Award, created in homage to the Igualada artist who was one of the first residents of the Piramidón, aims to promote creativity and cultural exchange between artists from all over the world. The call is open to visual artists of all nationalities and backgrounds, with the only requirement being to have presented a solo exhibition in the last three years.
The jury, made up of the Piramidón team and the artists Jo Milne and Alícia Vogel —the latter a resident of Piramidón and winner of the previous edition of the award with Guillermo Mora— has decided to award the award to Taylor Anton White.
Taylor A. White's (San Diego, California, 1978) practice investigates the fragile border between chaos and control, weaving paint, collage and object assemblage into large-scale pieces full of layers and textures. His compositions combine diverse materials—found objects, textiles, spray paint, graphite and acrylic—and move freely between figuration and abstraction. The creative process reveals its traces: erased layers, superpositions and accidents that become an integral part of the work, giving it energy and vitality. Color, gesture and materiality generate suggestive tensions, while White works with intuition and improvisation, incorporating memory, fragments of everyday life and a constant formal discovery.
