Aljoscha: reinventing life through biology and the creation of new forms
bonart alaior - 02/09/25

Biofuturism with Aljoscha (Glukov, 1974) in Alaior is the new exhibition proposal that can be seen from August 20 to September 30 at the Capella de Gràcia. The exhibition invites you to enter the world of biofuturism and bioism, artistic movements that explore new ways of life and propose renewed aesthetics and ethics, imagining a future in which biology and technology intertwine to reinvent our way of life.

Biology, ethics and hope come together in Alaior, but also bioism. It is a concept developed by Aljoscha, where he proposes the creation and aesthetics of new patent-free forms of life, as well as value systems inspired by biology. This perspective considers mutation, deviation and morphological uncertainty not as defects, but as raw material for evolution and innovation in humanoid forms. His works give life to these principles through installations, sculptures and interventions that evoke highly mutable, almost alien organisms, often suspended, translucent and with a presence that suggests breathing and consciousness.

For the artist, deviation and mutation do not represent faults or defects, but the seeds of all evolution and the possibility of hope. In his vision, art becomes a vehicle towards the future, a space where suffering is transformed into beauty and where consciousness expands, opening up new ways of perceiving, feeling and inhabiting the world. Each work thus becomes a bridge between the present and a tomorrow where life can be constantly reborn, in all its complexity and infinite potential.

In his most recent installation, Khemia of Ma'at , presented in the midst of the Ukrainian war at the Yermilov Center in Kharkiv, Aljoscha transforms a former chemistry auditorium into a space of creative resistance. His acrylic and translucent sculptures, suspended like living organisms, convey a message of transformation, justice and balance, inspired by the ancient Egyptian notion of Ma'at. His works have been integrated into public spaces such as churches, schools and museums, and have been exhibited in cities such as New York, Milan, Paris, Salzburg, Düsseldorf and Hagen.
